Brendan Stafford comes from a dairy farming background in Kilskyre, Kells, Co. Meath and obtained a B.Agr.Sc. Degree (Honours) from UCD in 1981.

 

I initially worked as a Field Technician in Moorepark Dairy Research Centre in Fermoy, Co. Cork.
I then joined Farm Business Systems (Farm Accountants) in Navan, Co. Meath.
In 1981 I joined the Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC) in their Clonmel/Thurles offices.
I transferred to ACC Bank in Navan in 1988 as Deputy Branch Manager until my departure in early 2010.
I am an appointed Agricultural Credit Reviewer for the Credit Review (CR).
I am employed by the Irish Farmers Association (IFA) as an Agricultural and Financial Advisor for their Debt Support Service  

>> My Experience


I have over 30 years banking experience in processing loan applications from application through to cheque issue stage.
This banking experience includes managing Deposits and Investments.
During the recession in the 1980s, I was heavily involved in Mediation and resolving difficult credit cases to the bank's and the customer's satisfaction.
In 2002 when ACC became Accbank, my lending and banking duties extended from Farmers to Businesses (SMEs) and Personal Customers.

>> Qualifications


  • Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Honours) from UCD awarded in 1981.
  • A Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance (C.Dip.A.F.) awarded by The Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in 1991.
  • A Technician Member of the Irish Taxation Institute (TMITI) since 2010.
  • I qualified as a Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) in July 2021 through the Institute of Bankers and UCD
  • These qualifications extend my skills from Agriculture to Finance and Banking and Life and Pensions


My experience, skills and knowledge place me in a prime position to give my clients sound, professional and cost effective agricultural financial advice.
